Yerba Santa also known in Spanish for "holy weed" "Holyherb" is a woody shrub that grows up to 8 feet on Disturbed soil. It is a member of the Waterleaf family. It is feminine. It is native to Western and South regions of North America. Yerba Santa is dried and bundled for smudging purposes which makes it a great alternate to sage. In Magic, it is used for purification, protection, and to build spiritual strength by either smudging, bathing or carrying it. To obtain beauty or improve it you can add it to baths. For healing the leaves are worn around the neck to ward off illnesses. The leaves are used for medicinal purposes. They are dried used as tea or made into tinctures to help with respiratory conditions cough, cold, tuberculosis to reduce fevers dry mouth and bronchitis.
